IMAP Folders lets you conveniently access and manage IMAP mail accounts
from your iPhone. Features include:
IMAP server-side folder management
You can create, rename and delete IMAP folders
Automatic message processing based on custom rules
You can configure rules of arbitrary complexity to automatically
process your incoming mail and take actions based on any number
of conditions. Those processing decisions are recorded in a log
which you can review when desired.
Viewing received messages and sending messages
It is possible to display messages with a text part. You
can also send new messages, reply to messages, and forward
messages. Also, the number of unread messages in a folder
is displayed.
Multiple servers configuration
The following mail servers are all supported:

This version is not support with Yahoo! Mail.

Tap the button at the top left, then
to return to the account list.
Simply tap on the name of the account you just created to display
a list of the folders available on the server:
If the connection to the server could not be established, the application
will immediately return to the previous screen. Tap the
button again, tap on the name of the account you created and check the
settings.
If displayed 'Network Error', something wrong at network. Please move to
better place for receive or wait for resolve network trouble.

Folder Management
You can create, rename and delete folders on the IMAP server.
From the Accounts screen,
tap the name of the account to access. After connecting to the
IMAP server, the list of messages present on the server will be
displayed. For folders with unread mail, the number of unread
messages will be shown to the right of the folder name:
By tapping
and entering a folder name, a new folder with that name will be
immediately created on the IMAP server:
If you tap on the name of a folder, information about that folder
will be displayed:
From there, you can change the name of the folder, search the word contains form subject or mail from, and create
subfolders.
If you rename a folder which is used in message
processing rules, you must manually edit those rules to refer to the
new folder name.
You can also read the text of messages in the folder:
Messages viewed here will be marked as read.
From the message viewing screen, you can initiate a reply
message. You can also forward the message to another recipient:
To delete a folder, tap on the icon to
the left of the folder name in the list, and then tap the
button.
When a folder is deleted, all the messages contained in
that folder are also deleted, so please use with caution.
The Inbox, Sent and Trash
folders are special folders used by mail applications.
Please refrain from deleting them to ensure proper
operation.
Processing Mail with Rules
Incoming mail can be automatically sorted into the desired folders,
or automatically deleted, according to the contents of the message.
From the Accounts screen,
tap the name of the account to manage. After connecting to the
IMAP server, the list of messages present on the server will be
displayed:

the Rule Settings screen is displayed
with a new blank rule for you to edit:
You can set the name of the folder to process,
the conditions to be met to activate this rule (multiple
conditions are allowed), and the actions to be taken when those
conditions are met.
Conditions can be based on the value of message headers (such as
"Subject", "From", "Date", or any arbitrary header), the message text,
or the message's read/unread status.
The processing action can move the message to another folder, copy
the message to another folder, or delete the message.
You can create more rules to be applied to the same folder by
following the same procedure again.
After returning to the Rules
screen, you can tap the button to process
the messages in this account according to the rules you have
defined.
Tapping the button will display a log
of the processing decisions that have been applied.
Mail messages are not delete except you specified delete action.
If you lost messages, you can trace the log and will find it.
IMAP searching is the server-side technology.
IMAP Folders send commands to the IMAP mail server,
but some servers are abort searching
when some mail messages are not in accrdance with RFC.
For example, a message have a too long title or mail address.
If the Apply rules at startup option is turned on in the
Accounts screen,
processing rules defined in that account will be applied automatically
when IMAP Folders is started:
For that to happen, you also need to turn on the Apply rules
at startup option in the IMAP Folders entry of the iPhone
Settings screen:
You can turn off the automatic execution of processing
rules without having to start IMAP Folders by turning off
the Apply rules at startup option in the IMAP Folders
entry of the iPhone Settings screen.
You can revise a given rule by simply tapping on it in the
Rules screen.
To delete a processing rule, tap the icon
to the left of the rule in the list, and then tap the
button.
Messages will be moved and deleted according to the rules
you configure. Please be careful when creating message processing rules.
Explanation of the various screens
Accounts
(initial screen)
Tapping the icon will bring up help and the
Information screen.
Tapping the button will bring up the
screen to edit account settings.
Tapping on an account name will display the
Folder List from the
corresponding server. From there, you can manage folders,
create message processing rules and apply them.
Tapping on the button will
apply all the active message processing rules defined for
this account.
The log of message processing decisions is displayed.
Tap the button to clear the log.
When the log size exceeds 4000 bytes, old entries are
automatically discarded.
The log can also be cleared automatically every time rules
are applied by turning on the Clear log on startup
option in the IMAP Folders entry of the iPhone Settings screen:
The host name of the IMAP server.
e.g. imap.gmail.com
SSL (on/off)
Set to ON to securely encrypt communications with the
IMAP server using the SSL protocol. Only set this option when
the server supports SSL communication.
Port
The port number to connect to the server.
e.g. 143(when not using SSL)
or 993(when using SSL)
Login
The user name used to login to the IMAP server.
e.g. kate
Password
The password used to login to the IMAP server.
Prefix
A prefix to prepend to mail folder paths on the
IMAP server.
Apply rules at startup (on/off)
If turned on, message processing rules configured for
this account will be automatically applied when mail is
received. The Apply rules at startup option in the
IMAP Folders entry of the iPhone Settings screen must also
be turned on.

For the settings required for other e-mail service providers,

Once you are done entering the settings, tap to
return to the Accounts screen.
To delete a folder, tap on the icon
to the left of the folder name in the list, and then tap the
button:
By tapping on a folder's name, information about that folder will
be displayed. From there you can also create sub-folders and view
the text of messages in that folder.
Tap the button to edit message processing
rules.
Tap the button to apply message processing
rules.
If there is an error in the account settings, the folder list cannot be
retrieved from the IMAP server. When such an error occurs, an explanation will
be displayed. Please use the Account
Settings screen to correct the settings and try again.
When there is a high number of folders on the IMAP server, it will take
some time to calculate the number of unread messages in each folder. If you
tap the button, you can abort this calculation.
The folder list will still be displayed if you abort.
When a folder is deleted, all the messages contained in that
folder are also deleted, so please use with caution.
The Inbox, Sent and Trash folders

If the folder you are renaming is used in message
processing rules, you must manually edit those rules to refer to the
new folder name.
messages: shows the total number of messages in the
folder.
unseen: shows the number of unread messages in the folder.
While the message data is being transferred, you can
tap the button to abort the transfer.
Subfolders: displays the subfolders contained in the folder.
search the words contains from subject or email.
From here you can access information about each subfolder, create
new subfolders and delete existing subfolders.
Mails: displays the e-mail messages contained in the folder. You
can read the text of the messages by tapping on them:
Only messages with a text part can be displayed.
You can reply, reply to all and forward messages:
You can edit messages with the standard iPhone functions:
Name: a descriptive name you choose for this rule,
e.g. "Mail from John".
Enabled (on/off): use to temporarily disable this rule
when desired.
Apply to: select the folder whose messages this rule will be
applied to:
Conditions: messages matching the conditions on this list will
be affected by this rule. Tap to add a new
condition. You can also delete conditions by tapping the
icon to the left of a condition, and edit a
condition by tapping on its name.
Tap the 'right arrow icon' to select a email
address from your address book.

In the Action section, for this rule to be triggered only
when all the conditions are met, select Match all
conditions. For the rule to be triggered whenever any
condition in the list is met, select Match any condition.
Action: select the action to be performed on the messages matching
the conditions of this rule:

Do nothing
Move to folder (folder selection required below)
Copy to folder (idem)
Delete message
Mark as read
Mark as unread
Mark as answered
Mark as not answered
End rule evaluation (skip all remaining rules)
When moving or copying to another folder, the target folder must
be selected below:
To check your rules, after tapping the
on the Rules screen to execute your
rules, use the function to verify what
actions were actually taken.
If the Apply rules at startup option is turned on in the
Accounts screen,
processing rules defined in that account will be applied automatically
when IMAP Folders is started. For that to happen, you also need to
turn on the Apply rules at startup option in the IMAP
Folders entry of the iPhone Settings screen. You can turn off the
automatic execution of processing rules without having to start
IMAP Folders by turning off the Apply rules at startup
option in the IMAP Folders entry of the iPhone Settings screen.
Mode: select whether the condition should be successful when
the following criteria matches, or when it doesn't match. The
two choices are:

To match read messages, select Unseen messages and set
the mode to If criteria doesn't match.
Likewise, to match unanswered messages, select Answered
messages and set the mode to If criteria doesn't
match.
Unseen messages are those whose text body has not been
retrieved yet from the server. In IMAP terminology, these are the
messages with the Seen flag unset, as identified by
the IMAP SEARCH UNSEEN command.
New messages are Unseen messages which have
arrived since the last IMAP folder operation. In IMAP terminology,
these are the messages with the Seen flag unset and
the Recent flag set, as identified by the IMAP SEARCH
NEW command. Remember that if you have any other IMAP
software accessing the same mailbox, the Recent flag
will only be seen by the first program to access the mailbox.
